Anaconda JCCCC Casts Job Corps’ Shadow on Annual Groundhog Job Shadow Day

BUTTE, MT–As the groundhog gots ready to look for his shadow, Anaconda Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCCC) heavy equipment mechanic and operator student trainees joined thousands of employers, including Montana Resources, Inc. – the mine in Butte Montana – and students around the country who took part in Groundhog Job Shadow Day on Friday, February 1, 2013.

Since 1999, this initiative to engage students in the world of work has paired student “shadows” with “workplace mentors” to introduce students to the workplace and demonstrate the connection between academics and careers.  The goal of Groundhog Job Shadow Day is to match more than 1 million young people with workplace mentors. On behalf of Job Corps, Anaconda JCCCC joined national event sponsors and students, businesses, and community members in the Butte Montana area on Friday, February 1st, in providing valuable workplace experience to students.
