ANACONDA, MT–On February 5th 2013, Anaconda Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCCC) culinary arts program sent fourteen students and two staff for ServSafe Training and Certification.

ServSafe is a food and beverage safety training and certificate program administered by the National Restaurant Association. The course discusses foodborne illnesses, including information on specific foodborne pathogens and biological toxins, such as shellfish poisoning, contamination, and food allergens.  All of the Anaconda students and staff who took the test passed it and are now certified for five years.

Anaconda JCCCC culinary students who are ServSafe Certified are a step above future competing applicants for jobs in the industry where sanitation certification is required by most as a basic credential for their management staff.
