New Mexico Students Selected for United States Senate Youth Program

— Students Headed to Washington, D. C. and to Receive $5,000 Scholarship–

Senators Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall today announced the names of the two students who have been selected as delegates to the 50th Anniversary United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) that will be held March 3 – 10, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Noah McCullough of Clayton and Elena Vigil of Santa Fe were chosen from across the state to be part of the group of 104 student delegates who will attend the program’s 50th Anniversary Washington Week.

Congratulations to our 2010-2011 Principals of the Year!  Mr. Erik Bose from SIATECH in Albuquerque is our High School Principal of the Year and Mrs. Julie Arnold from Mountain View Middle School in Rio Rancho is our Middle School winner.  They will each be awarded $500 and attend an awards event in Washington DC in the fall.  Applications for the 2011-2012 Assistant Principal of the Year Award and Principal of the Year Award can be downloaded below.

NASSP’s annual convention was held in Tampa, FL March 8-11, 2012.  Next year’s convention will be in Washington DC.  For more information visit the convention website:
