Albuquerque Job Corps Student Rides with Pride

Harrison Bahe, 19, came to the Albuquerque Job Corps Center from Nashchitti, NM. He received his HSD from Wingate High and came to the center to learn a trade. He didn’t have money or a scholarship since he came from a very poor family, so when his HS counselor told him about the Albuquerque Job Corps center he through he would give it a try since he had heard it was a good program. He is in the electrical trade but has a very different avocation since last year he took up bull riding. He entered his first Rodeo last year and in Feb rode his first bull. He learned to bull ride around Gallup at friends’ homes and on own. He loves the fun and thrill of it. His first ride on a bull at the rodeo, he fell off, but he is still trying. He eventually wants to win a buckle which is the prize for first place. He has his parents’ support and they go to all the rodeos. The cost to participate is $65 to $100. The Albuquerque Job OACTS department sponsors our student and he prominently displays the Job Corps emblem when he rides.
