At a recent luncheon hosted by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce for Congressman Heinrich, Ms. Virginia Trujillo, our Director of Outreach and Admission/Career Transition services was approached by Univsion, one of our local Spanish speaking TV stations. They wanted to interview her on why the Job Corps was represented at the luncheon asked and asked her to give some comments on the program and workforce. During her interview she spoke about the needs to develop and infrastructure in the workforce development system and how Job Corps was a very necessary component to the system. The Congressman also mentioned the need for infrastructure during his speech during the luncheon. Additionally he commented on the importance of Job Corps and the need for continuing to fund and support the program in these hard economic times.

After the luncheon, two of our student leaders who attended the luncheon were able to chat with Heinrich in regards to the program and their program of studies.  Shasta Anchondo is wanting to start college and Nicole Mitchell is already in college starting her 3rd term.
