Several Employers who employ students from the Albuquerque Job Corps were interviewed for an upcoming video that McNeely, Piggott and Fox, are producing. The MP&F staff traveled to other centers but spent time in Albuquerque with CLP, Joy of Advertising, Image Electrical Mechanical, INC and Big J. They also came to the center and interview Stacey Cooley, our Center Director.

The center was chosen for this honor because of the great employer relations that has been developed with these companies. Joy of Joy of Advertising was recently elected as our Career Training and Education Council President has been involved with the center for years. Her office is a regular Work- Based learning site and just recently hired one of our graduates.

Following is a direct quote from Joy. “I have been involved with The New Mexico Job Corps since 1997. We at JOY OF ADVERTISING, not only work with Work- Based Learning interns, but we actually hire Job Corps graduates. JOB CORPS WORKS. Job Corps takes young people and gives them the opportunity to succeed in quality education and training for a better and successful future. They provide me, as a small business owner, with responsible, dependable, and knowledgeable employees. These employees come for work ready to work and are not just well trained, but with an all-round commitment to succeed. I have had a number of students go on to college and have exciting careers and lives as a result of Job Corps and its successful programs. The youth of our country are the future of our country, let’s get them the education they need to succeed.”

CLP and Big J have the same kind of reaction. They take our well prepared students and give them good paying jobs with room for advancement.
