Yvonne Aragon, the Food Services Manager for our “Casa Del Sol” has again been recognized for her outstanding abilities. You might recall that it was her recipe for Bread pudding, last year that won her team the dessert award in the Job Corps “Top Chef” completion. Well it just doesn’t end for this superstar. This year, on September 10, Ms. Aragon and some of the AJCC staff got all dolled up to join her at the 2011 Hospitality Industry Award put on by the New Mexico Restaurant Association. Ms. Aragon had been nominated for the outstanding “ Manager of the Year”. To be eligible for this award the nominee must be employed in a managerial position, must contribute to the advancement and prestige of the foodservice industry, must be actively engaged and employed in the foodservice industry for a minimum of the past three consecutive years and must be committed to community service. Well after a long introduction saying how hard the recipient worked and how she helped young people and provided great meals and supported healthy living, and suppported the “Let’s Move” campaign and on and on…tah dah, Ms. Aragon was announced as the winner. The AJCC table yelped and cheered.
