This week is the start of a new adventure for the Advanced Trade Welding program at the Albuquerque Job Corps Center. New students have arrived from all over the United States to participate in the program. All students who were accepted into the program have proven themselves to be the Best of the Best of Welders that Job Corps has to offer. The AT students have new challenges to face, new memories to make, and new obstacles to overcome. These challenges will now lead them to a rewarding career building some of the largest construction projects in the world.
Albuquerque Job Corps Center, operated by FLUOR, is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and is committed to vocational training and career development for young people in New Mexico and beyond. FLUOR is committed to ensuring all graduates have a successful transition to the workforce through the Graduate Placement Program (GPP). GPP connects qualified AT Welding graduates with open FLUOR positions. Currently AJCC graduates are earning anywhere from $24 to $36 an hour. AJCC welcomes all AT Welders!
