Alaska Job Corps student Megan Dauphinee returned from the Nation’s capital with a gold medal, after a stellar performance in the National Job Corps Oratory Competition. One of the finest moments was when U. S. Senator Lisa Murkowski came to the competition to personally congratulate Megan. Megan says, “I was in total shock at the final announcement. Then the next thing I knew was that my U.S. Senator came up to me and shook my hand! And she thanked me!”
Megan will remember this moment always. And Megan has another heartfelt message for all Senators and Representative. “Thank you for supporting the Job Corps program. I am one of thousands of students that the Job Corps program has helped.” Megan recites the last line of her speech, “Job Corps Works and it worked for me too.”
