Representative Young Supports Job Corps Student

An Alaskan Job Corps student, Megan Dauphinee, won the National Job Corps Oratory Competition two weeks ago in Washington DC.    She met Alaska’s Representative Young in his office and told him about the Job Corps program.  “He was very supportive,” Megan said.  “It made me feel proud to hear him talk about our program.”

Since Megan has returned to Alaska, she has begun to share with others the pride she felt in Washington DC.

What does one do, after receiving a gold medal?  Well, if you’re Megan Dauphinee, you go straight to the front line and try to inspire other young people.  In fact, Megan is doing just that.  Today she spoke at Pathways High School in Anchorage.  And she is going to other schools to offer her message of hope.   This is what authentic success can do to someone who has struggled.  They want to share their story and assist others.  And this is the real pride that Job Corps really works.
