One is a sous chef at Google headquarters in Cupertino, California. One teaches at Harvard. One owns and operates one  of the major roofing company in the state. One is an IT manager for largest school district. One is plant operator at largest water plant in state. And the list goes on and on.
These are just a few of Alaska Job Corps graduates. But if you go to the large hospital or medical centers, you will find dozens of alumni. Same with construction trades, all over the state. Nearly every large water plant has a former Alaska Job Corps student working as an operator. And the finest restaurants can also claim Job Corps students as their upper management culinary staff.
Interestingly, all of these former students, remember fondly their time of training at the Alaska Job Corps. It was a safe haven, a supportive training ground and a caring place of growth. And they remain as proud of their “alma mater” as the Alaska Job Corps is of them.
