It was a day of connection and culture at the Mat Su College.  Over 50 Alaska Job Corps Native Alaskan students joined in the potlucks, singing, dancing, drumming and conversations that continued all day at the Machatanz theater.  The College’s Native Cultures Club coordinators said they were happy to have so many visiting students.  Community members, vendors and community service organizations also joined in the celebration.  Alaska Job Corps Center had an outreach table at the event.  Singer Bryron Nicolai, Alaska Spirit Drummers and the YaNiDah Chickaloon school were among the performers. Alaska Job Corps students joined in the dancing and singing.  The potlatch included JC offerings along with Salmon, macaroni and cheese, Pilot Bread, Caribou Soup, traditional fry bread and aguruk made with berries.
