On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, 14 Penobscot Job Corps Academy students and 2 staff members journeyed north of Bangor to the Last Stop Horse Rescue in Prentiss, Maine. Sisters Nonie Jenkins and Joyce Pomeroy take in neglected, sick or abused horses and they had two barns that were in need of paint/stain.A good time was had by all and the barns look beautiful. Students were treated to lunch and had a GREAT time interacting with the horses. When TEAM PENOBSCOT first arrived Joyce was brought to tears. As you can see everyone was all smiles at the end of the day.
Team Penobscot to the rescue!!
