Tranae Williams of Grenada, Mississippi presented the graduate’s appeal during the graduation ceremony. She recounted the difficult times she and her younger siblings had before she enroll in Job Corps.
The unusual hard times where caused by legal problem that removed her mother out of the home, she explained. After dropping out of high school because of the stress of trying to care for the younger siblings, Williams said, “I enrolled in Job Corps although I thought it was for bad youth and dropouts.”
As Williams prepared to graduate with her high school diploma and a skill in Certified Nurse Assistant, she stated, “coming to Job Corp is a very good thing, but only for those who want to take advantage of it like me.”
