Members of the Department of Labor’s Chicago office visited the Joliet Job Corps Center Thursday to learn more about the program.
They traveled as a group, boarding a school bus that picked them up not far from their office. A group of Joliet Job Corps students had ridden on the bus from Joliet to Chicago so they would have a chance to get to chat with the visitors and get to know them.
After arriving on Center and going through security, the group went to the Culinary Arts Dining Room and sat down for an elegant lunch including chicken Provencal and chocolate mousse. Students Sam Lewis, Lisa Bowman and Imani Bridges gave brief presentations about their studies and experiences at the Center.
Then the group toured the classrooms, trade areas, Social Development and the dorms.
