Students at CJCC receive training in employability skills and career success standards to increase their marketability in the workforce. All students have the opportunity to participate in community service and the Work Based Learning (WBL) program. Jackson completed her clinicals at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Center, Charleston WV. Her duties included assisting residents with physical grooming, feeding, blood pressure checks, and light physical exercise.
A leader in her own right, Jackson has served on the center’s Youth-2-Youth Campaign against violence and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter. She has administered student surveys against violence during Bullying Awareness Month, presented at South Charleston Middle School for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Community Service on “Mean Girls: Another Form of Bullying” for a student assembly and attended the Drug Enforcement Administration 360 meeting to address opioid abuse in the state of West Virginia. Business Community Liaison, Tia Welch said, “It has been a pleasure working with Tiffani on and off center in the community. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. I know she will do great things.”
Jackson has been accepted into the Transportation Communications Union (TCU), the centers advanced training program at the Potomac Job Corps Center, Washington DC. She will leave for advanced training on Feb. 13, 2017. Her future plans include going to college and becoming a registered nurse.
Tiffani is exceptionally proud of her decision to become a Christian and get water baptized at Heart of God Charleston church while attending Job Corps. Words of Wisdom to current and future Job Corps students is “Pray and be patient. Keep faith in God to see you through every challenge.”
